ABOUT
BELIEF #1
I believe my life's purpose is to bring glory to God and His Son Jesus Christ. I believe that He created me with a plan and equipped me with gifts to live out that purpose. One of those gifts is teaching.
BELIEF #2
Life is precious and designed by our Creator God. I believe He formed us in the womb and endowed a plan in us before we were born. I believe children are entrusted to us to raise and protect.
BELIEF #3
I recognize the self-evident truths and inherent rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness outlined in the Declaration of Independence and secured through the Constitution, first among these being life!
Heather Michelle Chinn
Twenty years educating both the creative and the non-typical artist in a detail/process oriented genre of painting both in traditional oil and digital methods I’ve spoken, and taught on the national level in my past creative field, gained “masters” degrees in teaching and even was a juror on the international scale in a highly technical field requiring both left and right brain logic. I found this can be applied to teaching firearms. Learn how the tools work, apply the proper techniques. Check for caveats to women's hands and pivot. Style comes later. Combine this attention to detail, obsession with efficiency (I'm married to a lean six sigma black belt) and my highly sensitive (empathic) personality, and you’ll find that I will notice and trouble shoot issues faster than the average person.
You can spend years on Youtube not knowing what you don't know or take an hour with me and save that precious time that could return so many things: time with your loved ones, a significantly sped up timeline to potentially protect your family, and starting off your firearms journey with good habits. This deep, engrained soul call has always been protect the children. It starts with situational awareness. When you become a parent, you are not afforded the luxury of phone scrolling while in transitional spaces with your child. If you find this too harsh, then I might not be the right fit for you. I would recommend doing either a USCCA or NRA search for a local certified instructor.Â
If you're ready to move to the next most logical step into learning about firearms protection let's chat. Moms, Dads, fellow protectors of children.Â
But, Heather! I'm nervous around firearms! GOOD. A healthy respect is an excellent sign it's time to have an honest conversation!
Heather is a USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals Certified Instructor, South Carolina SLED certified CWP Instructor, and North Carolina Justice Academy Concealed Handgun Certified Instructor. If you'd like to enjoy some of Heather's artistry click here.
Heather offers 1:1 beginner pistol instruction, small classes, pistol shopping consulting, and NC/SC CWP certification classes.
"Although I had shot before I met Heather, it was only a handful of times, and so few and far between each time that I never really retained anything anyone might have told me. I met her by chance at Ladies’ night at the range last year, and she was so helpful and knowledgeable that at first I actually thought she was an employee there. She has the patience of a saint. No really, I take an incredibly long time between rounds (there are more details than I’d ever realized!) but she was so patient, pointing out the things I’d do well, and encouraging me to try again on things I needed to correct. I’d been to the range with my husband a few times, and even though he was in the military and knows how to shoot well, he just wasn’t an effective instructor for me. Heather was not only patient but also very thorough in explaining everything, gentle at reminding me about corrections even if she’d already reminded me before, and most of all it was clear that she had a passion for learning and for educating others about firearms."Â
